Darren Rolfe

Darren studied Landscape Management at Sussex University which left him with a passion to see our ecology and landscape better cared for.

In his full-time role at West Sussex County Council he undertakes projects across the county from hedge-laying to building village halls.

When he is not guiding deer rut safaris at Knepp, Darren is a standards verifier for national qualifications in horticulture, arboriculture, countryside skills and agriculture. He also makes our delicious Knepp Wildland honey.

"I have lived on the edge of the estate for over 20 years and remember the landscape prior to the project. Each season it just keeps getting better. Knepp is a 3,500-acre classroom which I am very lucky to be able to enjoy and share with others. I am very proud to be part of it."
